SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Seminole County woman is charged with child neglect after detectives say she told a 7-year-old boy to drive through a neighborhood and then posted a video of the boy driving on social media.
The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the case after learning about the video from a school resource deputy. The sheriff’s office says the video showed a boy sitting alone in the driver’s seat of a vehicle as a woman made comments and filmed him driving. The boy was not wearing a seatbelt.
The school resource deputy recognized the boy and said he was a 7-year-old student at the school that he is assigned to.
Investigators say they found out that Kwaniqua Glenn, 34, of Altamonte Springs, met the boy at his bus stop and told him to get behind the wheel of the vehicle. She then told him to drive through the neighborhood.
Detectives say they determined that the boy was driving at a speed of about 28 miles per hour and drove for a third of a mile. No property was damaged and no one was injured during the incident.
Glenn was arrested and charged with child neglect and allowing an unauthorized person to drive a motor vehicle.
