ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – It’s being called one of the most entertaining trials in months. Terry Bollea, better known as the world’s most famous wrestler, Hulk Hogan, is in a St. Petersburg courtroom this week.

Bollea is suing the web site Gawker for $100 million for publishing a sex tape with him in it. Gawker published 1 minute and 40 seconds of a 30-minute recording that shows Bollea with Heather Clem, the ex-wife of radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, born Alan Clem.

Gawker claims they had a right to publish the video because Hogan is a public figure.RELATED: Judge sets trial date for Hulk Hogan, Gawker sex tape battle

In court Monday an emotional  Bollea talked about his early life growing up in Tampa and his first days in wrestling. He went on to tell the jury how Bubba the Love Sponge became one of his best friends and the radio personality was even with him in the room when his father died.

Bollea told the jury how Bubba and his wife started telling him that Heather wanted to have sex with him. This was happening as Bollea’s marriage to his ex-wife Linda was failing.

“One thing led to the other, and I just let my guard down,” Bollea said.RELATED: Attorneys: Hulk Hogan sex tape should be made public

He told the jury he had sex with Heather on three or four occasions and at least one of those occasions was recorded.

He later learned someone leaked the tape. “The first knowledge was that some still images came up and TMZ called me,” Bollea said.

Bollea said he was devastated by the sex tape going public. “It was embarrassing to me as a person and even embarrassing to me as a character. Hulk Hogan was embarrassed,” he said.

The trial is expected to take up to three weeks. Bollea is set to resume his testimony Tuesday morning.THE STORIES OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON:
