SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) – A 7-year-old child was hit by a vehicle in Sarasota Monday afternoon, according to the county officials.
It happened near Tuttle Avenue and 25th Street. According to the county officials, the child was hit by a truck.
The truck was traveling southbound on N. Tuttle Avenue and turned right onto westbound 25th Street. The child then ran into the road, chasing a dog, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The child sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Earlier Monday there was another pedestrian-involved incident near a middle school in Bradenton, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
It happened near Braden River Middle School located at 6215 Riverclub Drive. According to FHP, the child hit the bus tire from the side, he was not run over by it. He complained about an injured arm, paramedics cleared him at the scene. But his parents said they will take him to a hospital as a precaution.
