COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Police in Columbus came across a disturbing sight when responding to a 911 call, a 2-year-old child next to the bodies.
Police responded to a murder-suicide that left a man and woman dead.
It happened inside of an apartment on the city’s west side. Authorities said they found a 2-year-old child next to the bodies.
That child is fine, but folks who live in the neighborhood, like Joseph Michaud, are scared that the incident will leave the child with mental scars that will last a lifetime .
“I knew it was bad as soon as I came around the corner but had no idea, you just don’t expect these types of things,” said Michaud.
Bella Flore lives just across from where the crime happened.
“It’s very heartbreaking, I hope the family stays strong. They’re in my prayers,” said Flore.
Authorities said they got a call to respond to the Hidden Creek Apartments around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police said neighbors called 911 to report that they heard gunshots.
The child is staying with family members right now.
