ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – A man was killed and two others were injured in an apparent DUI crash early Tuesday morning.
St. Petersburg police confirmed the vehicle was traveling eastbound on 54th Avenue South when the driver lost control on a curve, left the road, flipped and hit two palm trees in the median before catching fire.
Police said bystanders removed the driver, Tron Morgan, 39, from the burning car. When officers arrived, they removed another passenger identified as Steed Garrison, 38.
Both Morgan and Garrison were taken to Bayfront Health Hospital with serious injuries. Another passenger, Carlos Garrison, 35, died upon impact.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Charges are pending.
