On Friday, the Rays announced that catcher Mike Zunino was placed on the 10 day injured list. As a result, a major trade happened during the game against the New York Yankees on Friday night.

Catcher Travis d’Arnaud is headed to Tampa from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for cash.

This comes less than a week after he signed with Dodgers following his release from the New York Mets.

Matt Duffy has been moved to the 60-day injured list to make room on 40-man roster. The Rays say another move will be made at a later time in order to make room for d’Arnaud on the 25-man roster.
