VALRICO, FL (WFLA) –  The food truck business is big business, and Raul Alvarez, who runs a Locksmith business in Valrico, paid big money to open up his own food truck.

“So I said to myself, “Hey, wait a minute, I want to do something like that myself, so I want to purchase a food truck and have a little taste of people’s country here, and become popular.'”

But it hasn’t paid off yet. It has been eight months, and the company he paid, A+ Trailers, has yet to deliver his mobile kitchen.

Alvarez paid $10 grand last year to the Land O’ Lakes company that promised to deliver the truck by October of last year. But it has been excuse after excuse, and Alvarez wants to know what happened to his truck. He fears his dream of operating a food truck is crumbling.

So he called 8 On Your Side’s Shannon Behnken for help getting answers.  Shannon tracked down the food truck and got inside to check the progress.

Earl Kreider, of A+ Trailers, says he is working on the trailer but ran into problems.

“I know it’s been frustrating for him,” Kreider said. “It’s been frustrating for me because I had to wait to get this trailer.”

Kreider showed off what he’s done to the truck so far and said he is waiting on a few more parts before he can finish.

He promised to complete the trailer by the end of this month.

He said he’s hopeful that Alvarez will succeed in his business because he owes him $27,000 more, to be paid in installments, once the trailer is finished.

“You can come back to see it when it’s done,” he said.WHAT OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON RIGHT NOW:
