The holiday season has wrapped up and now it’s time to start the cleanup process.
Between trash from presents, decorations on your Christmas tree and fireworks from New Year’s Eve, there’s a lot to get rid of.
But there’s a right way and a wrong way to dispose of your holiday cheer, according to the Hillsborough County Solid Waste and Management team.
Present boxes and plain wrapping paper can be recycled, but paper with foil, sparkles or plastic needs to be thrown in the regular trash can.
Tinsel, lights and ornaments need to all come off of your Christmas tree before it goes out to the curb.
Also, when you put the tree out to be picked up do not bag it or your recycling items.
Now that you know all of the do’s and don’ts, it’s time to get cleaning.
