BELLEVILLE, Ill. (WFLA/CNN) – A rising football star with scholarship offers to Mizzou and Illinois is now dead.
Jaylon McKenzie, 14 went to a party in Venice, Illinois with some friends Saturday night when a fight broke out.
Jaylon’s mom says he walked outside to leave and was hit by a stray bullet.
The school district says he was one of several students shot that night. Jaylon had recently been named by Sports Illustrated as one of “Six teens who will rule the future of sports.”
