ROCHESTER, NY (WFLA/WROC) – A group of hardcore hopscotch fans in New York tried to make it into the record books.
More than 700 people showed up at Asbury First United Methodist Church in Rochester to take part in the effort.
They were attempting to beat the previous Guinness World Record of 621 playing hopscotch at one time.
“We were trying to figure out as a church what could we do to bring people together and this was an idea someone sat around the table and said what about hopscotch and we thought do we even remember how to play hopscotch?” said Stephen Cady, with the church.
There’s no word on how long it will take for the record to become official.
