ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Police say six people were taken to an Orlando hospital after being exposed to carbon monoxide from a generator that was running at a condominium complex that was being renovated.
The Orlando Sentinel reports a family of four came to the hospital early Thursday after feeling ill. When doctors determined they were suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning, they alerted the Orlando Fire Department.
Fire officials went to their building at Walden Palm Condominiums and determined that construction crews had likely left a generator on inside a unit being renovated.
Police officials say two other people from the building were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities say the injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.
