PHILADELPHIA (WFLA/KYW) – Four people were found shot and killed execution-style in a basement in southwest Philadelphia on Monday afternoon.

Philadelphia police say the victims had one gunshot wound each, to the head.

The medical examiner began the task of removing the victims late Monday.

“This is an absolutely evil thing to do,” said Police Commissioner Richard Ross.

“Can’t get my mind around you have people walking around, capable of such vicious acts.”

The victims are all said to be under 40.

Ross said his officers were first called around noon on Monday to check on the home, because one of the victims had not been heard from.

“The family member that initially called, to check on the well-being. He’s the one who went to knock on the door and the door was ajar, and he didn’t think much of that,” Ross said.
