St. Pete’s Largest PJ Party is July 21st

This year marks the 43rd anniversary of the blockbuster summer sale which has been featured in the New York Times and often referred to as “St. Petersburg’s Largest Pajama Party.” Beginning at 6:43 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, more than 40 downtown and nearby St. Petersburg merchants and businesses will offer door-buster sales and special offers. Shoppers are encouraged to wear their pajamas and are often treated to extra discounts or small gifts. There will be free cake at the main tent, located on the lawn of the Museum of Fine Arts, and several restaurants are offering incredible breakfast specials to hungry shoppers. The event is open to the public, and maps will be available to guide people to participating businesses.

As part of the event that sees downtown filled at dawn with yellow flags, bright balloons and eager shoppers, the Downtown Business Association (DBA) will be collecting wish list items for CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse). CASA is southern Pinellas County’s domestic violence primary support service and shelter.  It has an ongoing need for food and hygiene essentials.  Canned and non-perishable food items are always welcome.  CASA’s entire wish list can be found here: www.casa-stpete.org/wishlist.
