Spark the Way, a faith-based nonprofit that supports young adults battling cancer, will host its Second Annual Ignite the Light Gala at the Tampa Convention Center on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 6-9 p.m.
The gala aims to raise much-needed funds and share messages of hope for fighters, survivors and caregivers among a community of over 72,000 young adults who receive cancer diagnoses each year.
Join WQYK’s Cadillac Jack and The Current’s Roxanne Wilder as they host this night of light-bearing and world-impacting. Program activities begin with a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by dinner, dessert and a VIP after-party (9-10 p.m.) for sponsors and volunteers. Throughout the evening, patients and advocates will offer testimonies from the young adult cancer fight, while Spark the Way partners introduce their own initiatives for driving awareness.
Guests are also invited to participate in their traditional Love Lantern ceremony, in honor of loved ones affected by cancer. Lanterns will be available for purchase and guests are encouraged to safely light and release them into the sky in nights following the event, sharing their stories via social media. All are welcome to join as they Ignite the Light!

Spark the Way was founded by cancer survivor Madison Miller, 23, to equip young adults with the hope, strength and resources needed to fight cancer; to shine fearlessly and live courageously, whether in battle themselves or caring for others facing the disease.
