Nate Jacobs recognized the lack of African Americans performing in theatre in Sarasota more than a decade ago and explained his journey to founding the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe. Jacobs is the director of the theatre company’s current production of Dreamgirls, which runs through April 9.
