TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa Bay is hosting numerous events to celebrate and honor the servicemen who have died while serving in our armed forces.

Here’s a list of events happening in the area.

Memorial Day Community Fest

  • Live music, free food, and fun activities

Hillsborough County 26th Annual Memorial Day Observance

  • Keynote speakers, fallen hero name-reading of Garden of Gold flag display, JROTC rifle salute, taps, and patriotic music
  • Refreshments and fellowship following the outdoor ceremony
  • Veterans Memorial Park will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Location: Veterans Memorial Park, 3602 U.S. 301 North, Tampa, FL

  • Salute to American veterans, local veteran organizations will be present with keynote speakers

Sarasota Flag Placement and Ceremony

  • Location: Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72
  • When: Saturday, May 27 at 7:30 a.m.

  • Followed by Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m.
  • Flag retirement will be held on June 3 at 8:30 a.m.

Sarasota Memorial Day Parade

  • “All Gave Some, Some Gave All” themed ceremony
  • Location: Main Street and Osprey Avenue
  • Ceremony to follow at end of the parade at Main Street and Gulfstream Avenue at 11 a.m.
  • When: Monday, May 29 at 10 a.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Parade will have performances by the SMA band and have a few keynote speakers

Memorial Day Concert

  • Lakewood Ranch wind ensemble with guest speaker
  • Location: Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72

Morning Ruck March

  • Light walk or march gathering military folks in remembrance of those who sacrificed
  • Location: Ballast Point Park, 5300 Interbay Boulevard in Tampa
  • When: Monday, May 29 from 7:30 a.m. through 9:30 a.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Led by veteran employees of Power Home Remodeling as part of the Power Veterans Initiative
  • Interview opportunities with veteran employees and office leadership

Bay Pines VA, National Cemetery Hosts Annual Ceremony

  • Veterans, loved ones and the local community are all welcome
  • Location: Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Boulevard, near the monument at the entrance
  • When: Monday, May 29 at 11 a.m.
