TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — We only have a few more days until pirates invade the City of Tampa and if you are in need of some scallywag swag, this Gem of Tampa Bay has a whole trove of treasure for you to choose from.
Buccaneer Beads is located in Tampa and has been the go-to place for Ye Mystic Krewe over the years.
“I’m getting ready so it’s definitely my favorite time of year,” Ye Mystic Krewe Pirate Garrett Garcia said. “Being a homegrown Floridian, I love January here with Gasparilla.”
This year, Owner Jennifer Grindell said the demand has been higher than usual, with beads flying off the shelves.
“I think it’s been 10 years since I brought trucks in on a parade week,” she explained.
The store is known for selling all kinds of beads, including several light-up and sports-themed ones.
Customers can also purchase accessories, flags and costumes at the shop.
“I think this year is probably going to be one of the largest, if not the largest Gasparilla parade ever,” Grindell said.
Buccaneer Beads is located at 3808 East M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard in Tampa.
The store will be open this Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
