Love art? Check out this Gem of Tampa Bay!

ST. PETE, Fla. (WFLA) —St. Pete is known as one of the most vibrant places in Tampa Bay and its Warehouse Arts District is just one area where art comes to life.

This district can be found from 16th Street to 31st Street between 1st Avenue North and 10th Avenue South.

The ArtsXchange campus, a project of the Warehouse Arts District Association, can be found in this area. It is home to galleries and dozens of affordable art studios and spaces for local businesses.

“How do we create a sustainable environment for artists to stay here and not be priced out of their own region that they built up?” Warehouse Arts District Executive Director Markus Gottschlich said.

Currently, the campus is also a gathering place for organizations, like the Sunshine City Chorus. The men’s a cappella group rehearses at the campus at least once a week.

“We want to be part of the St. Petersburg arts community,” Sunshine City Chorus Director Lance Lubin said. “We want to be tied to the City of St. Pete and be part of the art life here.”

The public can visit the ArtsXchange gallery Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

An Art Walk is also held the second Saturday of every month from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“Nurturing the arts and culture really means nurturing what made this place so vibrant in the first place,” Gottschlich said.
