Sam first joined WFLA in March 2021 as a Digital Data Reporter. He came to the role with a hungry curiosity for information and an encyclopedia’s worth of random trivia knowledge.
From early in his career, Sam has used his ability to ferret out documents, analyze legislation, and understand data to guide his writing and reporting. As a Digital Data Reporter in Tampa, he’s covered everything from healthcare to the governor, COVID-19, and lately, giant snails.
When he’s not at work, you can usually find Sam reading books, editing new ones for a growing list of clients, or building Gundam models.
Since moving to Florida from Georgia, he’s used his research and writing skills to dig into the deeper stories affecting Tampa Bay.
