(WFLA) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Monday that a joint investment of $20 million will go to protecting the wildlife and waters of Biscayne Bay.
The joint investment is made up of $10 million from the state of Florida and $10 from Miami-Dade County.
DeSantis said the county has already identified six projects of need, totaling $5 million.
It’s the first time funds from the $625 million in water resources money awarded to the state of Florida has been appropriated, and DeSantis said, “I think we’re putting it to good use.”
