A monkey is on the loose in a North Miami neighborhood and it’s driving residents bananas.

The monkey was spotted Tuesday morning.

The energetic monkey stopped by Winifred Ancrum’s home where her pool guy spotted the monkey hanging out in a tree.

“He said, ‘He’s a big monkey’ I say ‘What?’, ” said Winnifer Ankron. “Never had to deal with this type of monkey business before.”

Florida Fish and Conservation Commission officers responded to her home and told her they had been looking for the monkey for four hours.

Someone else recorded cell phone video showing the agile monkey scampering on a car and running across a street in a warehouse district.

North Miami Beach police responded and even tweeted about the monkey on the run.

“North Miami Beach Police is attempting to locate a loose monkey in the area of NE 6 Avenue between 179-180 Street. Information was received that the monkey came from the Industrial area west of I-95. My FWC is also on scene assisting,” said North Miami Beach police on Twitter.

Police say they have not been able to find the monkey.
