Sarasota police detectives are investigating a shooting that happened around 3:25 a.m. Sunday near Palmadelia Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Way in Sarasota.
One male victim was shot and transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The name and the age of the victim are currently unknown.
Detectives do not know who is responsible for the shooting and say that person is still at large.
Police say they do not know if this shooting is connected to other active cases they’re investigating. Just days ago, police said two men approached another man in Sarasota and shot him twice in the leg.
