A Polk City man is facing charges after deputies say he sexually battered one boy and molested three others over a period of several years.
Steven Lane, 41, was arrested on Friday. According to the sheriff’s office, all four of his victims were between the ages of 12 and 17 when the incidents happened.
During the sheriff’s office investigation, three of the four boys indicated they had been abused by Lane. Lane later told detectives he had criminal sexual contact with all four of the boys.
“This is an absolutely abhorrent situation…this man gained access to these boys, and then abused that trust and access. Hopefully, he’ll never have the opportunity to ever do this again,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement.
Lane was arrested on two counts of sexual battery and three counts of lewd molestation. He was taken to the Polk County Jail on $250,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
