An update to a story News Channel 8, Tampa Bay’s Official Bucs station, brought you earlier.
As first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Bucs defensive end, Jason Pierre-Paul will not need neck surgery.
It was released that JPP fractured a vertebra in his neck as a result of a car accident and is opting out of surgery. The current plan, per this initial report, is for the vertebra to heal on its own.
In addition, JPP’s neck will be re-checked 4 months from now.
His return to the field this season is not out of the question at this point. As ESPN states, this injury isn’t believed to be career-threatening.
