The head football coach at Teneroc High School was arrested Friday on drug possession charges, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a news release, Laroni Gallishaw, is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, introducing contraband into a jail and tampering with evidence.

Around 11:40 p.m. Friday, Gallinshaw was stopped at a Chevron gas station after a deputy allegedly spotted him driving with an expired tag.

As a deputy approached the vehicle, they said Gallinshaw appeared to be hiding something in the center console.

After Gallinshaw consented to a search, officers found a razor blade and small amount of cocaine in the cup holder, deputies said.

He was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail.

Once the coach was in custody, officers said he tried to hide a small amount of cocaine and marijuana in his pants.

Gallishaw played on Lakeland High School’s state championship team in 1999 before playing for Louisville and Murray State in college. In 2005, Gallinshaw played in NFL games with the Minnesota Vikings. He was hired as Tenoroc’s head coach last July.
