ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – Police say a man was shot and killed during a home invasion in St. Petersburg Wednesday night.
Police said the victim, 22-year-old Owen Melin was visiting friends in the 400 block of 4th Avenue South around 10 p.m. Wednesday night when a home invasion took place and he was shot.
Melin died at the scene.
Investigators suspect the shooting was not a random act of violence, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call 727-893-7780 or send an anonymous message by texting “SPPD” and your tip to TIP-411.
