PHOENIX, Az. (WFLA/KPNX) – Wednesday was the hottest day of the year so far in Phoenix, Arizona.
How hot, you ask?
It was so hot in Phoenix that a box of crayons melted in just 30 minutes.
That’s what happens at 116 degrees.
In an experiment at KPNX, someone glued crayons to a canvas and let the heat do its work.
The dark colored crayons melted first, as they absorbed the sun’s rays at a faster rate.
