The next time you get pulled over in Hillsborough County it could cost you more.

The Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners will be holding a public hearing Tuesday to discuss a  proposal to increase a surcharge on some traffic violations.

If approved – the surcharge would go from $20 to $30.

The county says the move could bring in around $1 million more a year.

8 on Your Side pulled the numbers – in the last five years the traffic violation surcharge of $20 has generated $2.4 million in revenue.

Wednesday at 9 a.m. the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners will again discuss the proposal during their meeting.
