Deputies in Seminole County say they found a child’s body while searching for a missing boy with autism on Sunday.
A missing child alert was issued overnight for 7-year-old Humza Syed, who was last seen at his home in Lake Mary. The alert was canceled just before 10:30 a.m.
Around noon, deputies announced a child’s body was found in a pond near Syed’s home. Investigators are now working to identify the body.
When the alert for the boy was first put out, deputies said he was nonverbal and might not respond to his name.
