A Florida police union has asked its members to boycott the Miami Dolphins after three players protested the national anthem at Thursday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Miami Herald reports.

On Friday, the Broward County Police Benevolent Association (BCPBA) called on members to request refunds for season tickets and said its ending its partnership for discounted tickets with the franchise.

“If you have already purchased tickets to this game, we encourage you to call the Dolphins ticket office to request a refund because this organization obviously DOES NOT honor First Responders and the dangers they put themselves in every day,” the organization said in a post on Facebook.

The move comes after a number of NFL players, including wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson knelt during the national anthem at several preseason games.

“We feel like this is a slap in the face,” BCPBA vice president Rod Skirvin told the Miami Herald on Saturday “Many of us are former military members, and we feel that the protest to take a knee is against us. … As an organization, we can’t participate in anything with the NFL as long as these protests continue.”

The BCPBA is also urging members of the Dade County PBA and Palm Beach PBA to join the boycott.

The organization also sent an e-mail to the NFL, saying it would re-evaluate their decision if the league changes how they handle players who kneel during the National Anthem.
