TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – It is one of the most closely watched U.S. Senate races in the nation. Republican Gov. Rick Scott wants to unseat U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson. The Florida Democrat has been representing Florida in Washington, D.C., since he was elected in 2000.

I invited both candidates to join me for a conversation about the race and their visions for the future.

First up, Gov. Scott who continues to call on Sen. Nelson to come clean about what he knows concerning Russians trying to hack into Florida elections.

The governor talks about his “Make Washington Work” plan which includes proposals for term limits and making members of Congress work full-time for their full-time salary.

We also focus on toxic algae and red tide problems in Florida, future cuts to Medicare and Social Security benefits, and of course President Trump.

My next interview will be with U.S. Senator Bill Nelson.
