A Pasco County woman is facing a domestic battery charge after deputies say she hit her child’s father with a kitchen pot because he was fishing too much.

Deputies were called to a home in Wesley Chapel Wednesday afternoon and met with the victim, who said 25-year-old Katie Gottlich threw a pot at him.

According to an arrest report, Gottlich and the victim had gotten into an argument over him not being around enough to help with their child. The victim told deputies he had been out fishing the past couple of days.

At some point during the argument, deputies say Gottlich threw a pot at the victim while he wasn’t looking and hit him in the head. The arrest report says Gottlich then took off running.

When deputies spoke with Gottlich, they say she denied throwing anything at the victim or putting her hands on him. Deputies noted in their arrest report that they found a pot in the yard where the victim claimed the incident happened, but did not see any bruising or injuries to the victim’s head.

The arrest report says Gottlich and the victim’s child was not home when the alleged incident happened.
