Tropical Storm Helene has formed between the coast of Africa and the Cabo Verde Islands.
It is expected to bring tropical storm conditions to portions of the Cabo Verde Islands Saturday night and Sunday.
The storm is currently about 405 east of the southernmost of the islands.
Maximum sustained winds are blowing at 40 mph.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Santiago, Fogo and Brava.
The National Hurricane Center says Helene could become a hurricane early next week.
