The community is beginning to say final goodbyes to Jordan Belliveau, the 2-year-old who was brutally murdered.

There were large crowds and strong emotions during Jordan’s visitation service Friday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Clearwater.

The urge to attend the visitation has hit close to home for many who didn’t know Jordan.

“It just touched me being that the child’s so young. It just touched my heart. I have six kids of my own, so,” said Tawana Robinson-Chestine, a Clearwater resident.

Many who attended are still in shock after Jordan’s body was found two Tuesdays ago in a wooded area.

“I just feel so sorry for him ever since they sent out an Amber Alert,” said Tiffany McClendon, another Clearwater resident.

Largo police said Jordan’s mother confessed to killing her son. The thought of it is still haunting.

Jordan’s time in and out of foster care is bringing the flawed system into the spotlight.

The hope now is that lessons were learned.

“Love your kids. Not hurt, harm or hinder your kids,” Robinson-Chestine said.

Jordan’s funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church on Pennsylvania Ave. in Clearwater.
