Detectives in Polk County need help finding two suspected burglars who dragged a homeowner from their car.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. at a home on Voyles Loop in Polk City on Monday, Oct. 8.

Surveillance video shows two men in a gray sedan drive onto the victim’s property, and start helping themselves to his things.

The victim returned and caught them in the act. He pulled his truck right up against their car, got out, and tried to remove the keys from their car. Unsuccessful with that, he got into the back seat area to steal back the items that were stolen from him.

Deputies say the pair then drove away with the victim still in the back seat and began hitting him while trying to steal his cell phone. They discussed throwing the man out of the car but the victim convinced them to pull over and let him out.

The homeowner was fortunately uninjured.
