The search for a missing 6-year-old St. Petersburg girl ended late Wednesday night when the girl was found safe, sleeping under a grill cover.
Police, bloodhounds and a helicopter searched for Jermiya Land, who was reported missing. Relatives said she was last seen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to a St. Petersburg Police Department spokeswoman, Land ran outside after she was sent to bed Wednesday evening.
The department had 20 officers on scene looking for the girl. Officers had looked for her underneath a grill cover earlier in the evening. Police believe Land doubled back and hid under the grill cover.
She was reunited with her family on Wednesday night.
