A judge has ruled in favor of Rick Scott following the governor’s lawsuit against Hillsborough County’s supervisor of elections and canvassing board.

Three statewide races in Florida are currently being recounted, including the US Senate race. Scott is the Republican candidate running against incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.

In a lawsuit that was filed on Tuesday, Scott requests all election observers from both parties be provided access to the same room where the recount is happening.

The suit accuses Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer of not allowing observers into the recount room, which violates Florida law.

On Wednesday, Judge Cheryl Thomas ruled in Scott’s favor. His representatives will now be allowed in the room with the recount machine.
