ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — St. Petersburg police are asking for help identifying a teenage boy suspected of carjacking a woman and injuring her.
Investigators say it happened at 11:15 a.m. on Monday at the WaWa located at 2465 22nd Ave. N. A 54-year-old woman was putting air in her car’s rear left tire when a teenage boy entered the driver’s seat.
When the woman confronted the teen, they had a physical altercation and he punched her. The victim fell back onto the pavement and the suspect drove over her left foot as he stole the car and left the area.
A nearby surveillance camera captured the suspect as he rode by on his bicycle just before the carjacking. He is described as black, 14 to 16 years old with a thin build. The suspect is 5’6″ tall and was wearing a distinctive green striped shirt.
The stolen car is a white 2012 Scion XD hatchback.
