(WCMH) — With wind chills in central Ohio possibly reaching 35 degrees below zero, and even colder temperatures across the midwest, President Trump wants to know what happened with global warming.

“In the beautiful Midwest, windchill temperatures are reaching minus 60 degrees, the coldest ever recorded. In coming days, expected to get even colder. People can’t last outside even for minutes. What the hell is going on with Global Waming? Please come back fast, we need you!” said Trump in a tweet Monday evening.

According to Storm Team 4’s David Mazza, weather is the day to day, hour by hour state of our atmosphere.  Climate is the average weather over a long period of time. The weather can be very cold on a given day, but the climate for that month can still be well above average. Also, when the temperatures are very cold in one spot, it typically means it is abnormally warm in another part of the world.

The climate for a region is never made up or greatly altered due to one singular weather event.  According to Mazza, the scary and wild part about the forecast for this week, is how we are going to go from highs 35 degrees below normal, to lows nearly 25 degrees above normal in such a short span.

Many on Twitter responded to Trump’s tweet,  some in support, others criticizing.
