Attorneys for Cameron Herrin and John Barrineau appeared before Circuit Judge Christopher C. Nash Wednesday to go over logistics in the case.
The teens are accused of speed racing down Bayshore Boulevard last year at speeds that reached more than 100 mph, court documents show.
Judge Nash asking how the case is moving along.
“Any offer being conveyed at this point?” the judge asked in court.
“No, Your Honor,” a state prosecutor replied.
One of the cars hit and killed Jessica Raubenolt, 24, and her little girl, Lillia.
The mom and daughter were visiting Tampa and were out for a walk.
Since the crash, the City of Tampa has fast-tracked safety improvements along the scenic road.
“Certainly significantly improved in terms of awareness, the speed,” said Jean Duncan with the City of Tampa. “And more opportunity for safer pedestrian experience.”
Crosswalks with flashing signs now warn drivers about pedestirans crossing Bayshore.
City workers will put in four more before the end of February, Duncan said.
They’ll also refresh existing lane striping.
“We’re going to continue to take a look at Bayshore. There’s always layers of things we can continue to do,” Duncan said.
A third suspect, Tristan Herrin, wasn’t in court Wednesday.
