CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — A man is accused of throwing a drink at a woman before punching her in the face during a road rage incident in Clearwater, an affidavit shows.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 5:10 p.m. on Feb. 27 in the area of Seminole Boulevard and 72nd Avenue North in Seminole.

The affidavit said Anthony Joseph Pellegrino, 54, of Clearwater, was involved in the incident and threw a “partially full Chick-fil-A drink” at a woman. The woman was covered in liquid, and so was the front of her vehicle.

The woman got out of her car to take a picture of Pellegrino’s license plate. Then he hit her in the face with a closed fist, cutting her lip, the affidavit stated.

Pellegrino, who had a prior conviction for battery, aggravated battery, or felony battery in 1998, was charged with felony battery. Court records show that he was released on a $500 bond.
