TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — There are a lot of things you can do to make your smartphone even more useful.

When listening to music, place the phone in a cup. It acts as a speaker.

“It sounded like I was listening to a speaker,” said Jeff Harper, who travels to Tampa for work. “I would definitely use it to try it out if I was at home and sitting at my desk and I didn’t have a blue tooth speaker there.”

Toni Smith uses her smartphone constantly and likes to use the barcode scanner to compare prices and save money.

When your phone runs out of juice, you can place it in airplane mode to make it charge faster.

Maddie Higgins, 17 years old, makes her phone work for her. She uses the native iPhone Reminders app to get alerts based on her location. “You set it for a certain location so once you get to that location, if you share your location, it pops up,” she explains.

She also keeps some cash in her phone case, in case of an emergency.WHAT OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON RIGHT NOW:
