TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Late Tuesday morning Tropical Storm Colin was downgraded to post-tropical cyclone status. On Monday, the Tampa Bay area dealt with rain and wind from Tropical Storm Colin. Colin quickly passed through the Florida Panhandle overnight and is moving up the east coast Tuesday.
The storm is bringing gusty winds and rains to North Carolina’s Outer banks, which should end soon.

The Tropical Storm Warning for the Tampa Bay area has been dropped as of 5 a.m. Tuesday. A Flood Watch has been extended for the Bay area until 8 p.m.Tuesday.
Earlier Monday Governor Rick Scott issued an executive order declaring a State of Emergency in 34 Florida counties. The counties are: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Brevard, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Franklin, Gilchrist, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Manatee, Marion, Nassau, Orange, Pasco, Pinellas, Putnam, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Johns, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor, Union, Volusia and Wakulla.
Colin is the third named storm of the 2016 Atlantic hurricane season. Governor Scott urged Florida residents, visitors and businesses to prepare for the potential severe weather, heavy rain and flooding.>>Watch Surviving the Storm: A Storm Team 8 Special
