PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — When Aleena Kondek prepared for her prom Saturday, she received support from the Tarpon Springs Police Department, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
Aleena is the daughter of Tarpon Springs Officer Charles Kondek Jr. Kondek was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 21, 2014.
On Saturday the police officers and deputies joined the Kondek family in escorting Aleena to the prom, which was held at the Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor.
“It was an honor and privilege to be able to do this for Charlie as we know he would have been there himself,” Tarpon Springs officers posted on Facebook. “We Will Never Forget – TSPD Blue Family.”
Kondek, who was 45 years old, was a 17-year veteran of the police department.
