CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – One person was hospitalized with “multiple gunshot wounds” after the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an armed suspect “with apparent gunfire” at a Dollar General Sunday.
According to the sheriff’s office, the shooting occurred at the Dollar General along Gulf to Lake and N Dunkenfield Ave. in Crystal River.
CCSO said the suspect is in custody. There is no threat to public safety at this time. The sheriff’s office said the victim was taken to the hospital by an ambulance due to the weather.
Deputies are still on the scene at Dollar General and advise citizens to avoid the area. This is an ongoing investigation.
