A Largo man accused of stalking and molesting a 12-year-old girl near a bus stop told police he was attracted to the victim because of her skin tone, according to an affidavit.

Abdulla Ndregjoni, 72, was arrested for aggravated stalking of a child under 16 and lewd and lascivious molestation.

According to police, the girl reported that Ndregjoni had been following her on her way home from a bus stop at 15th Ave. NW and Clearwater Largo Road for several weeks. On Thursday, he allegedly grabbed her by her arm and tried to kiss her on the face. Then he grabbed her breast through her clothing, the girl said, according to police.

On Friday, detectives saw the girl exit the bus and Ndregjoni follow her to an apartment complex.

Police said he later admitted to grabbing her, trying to kiss her and fondling her breast. He also admitted to repeatedly following the girl home from the bus stop and said he was attracted to the victim because of her skin tone, the affidavit states.

“The defendant admitted he developed an attraction to the victim and he believed she was in fact under the age of sixteen,” police said in the affidavit.

Ndregjoni was booked into the Pinellas County Jail, where he’s being held on a $40,000 bond.
