A bride-to-be got quite the emotional surprise when she went to pick up the special heels she’d ordered for her wedding day.

They weren’t just any pair of sparkly heels that would be worn on the day of her nuptials.

As it turns out, the heels also held a “secret message.”

When 38-year-old Emma Letts went to the shop, she was told her late mother had already paid for the shoes and had a “secret message” inscribed on the soles.

“Wanted you to have a gift from me on your wedding day. Your wedding shoes are my gift to you,” a note in gold script read. “Hope you have a magical day. Lots and lots of love and big hugs, MUM xxxx”

Emma’s mom passed away in Oct. 2017 after a battle with terminal lung cancer, according to local publication Leicestershire Live.

Her mother had arranged to have the shoes made through a friend, Amanda Weise, who runs the online shop Lace and Love.

In a Facebook post along with photos of the shoes, Weise said:

This client put a deposit down on shoes months ago. In the meantime and unbeknown to her, her mum who was terminally ill contacted me to pay for them. She also sent me a message to include on the soles which I kept secret throughout the whole process along with the fact her mum had purchased them for her.
Sadly her mum passed away before the shoes were finished but we sent them out last week and I had a very emotional phone call when the client received her shoes.
What a lovely thing for this mum to do and I know these shoes will carry an even more special meaning to this client. Her mum will be right with her on her wedding day.
