If you’ve been online this month, chances are you’ve heard of – or at least seen – Mike Alancourt. And now, thanks to a new music video from one of today’s biggest rap artists, you’ll be seeing more of him.
Alancourt, 43, went viral earlier this month for absolutely crushing a dance routine to Post Malone’s song, “Wow.” The video was taken at 1 Vibe Dance studio and features choreography by Jennifer Colvin. Since it was posted on March 3, the video has been viewed more than a million times and has thousands of likes, shares and comments.
It also gained attention from major celebrities – including Post Malone himself. The rapper re-posted the dancing video on his social media pages back when it first went viral but he later had an even bigger surprise for Alancourt.
On Monday, Alancourt appeared on The Ellen Show to perform the dance routine that made him viral. While he was visiting, Ellen showed Alancourt a video from Post Malone inviting him to dance at one of his shows.
“Hey Mike, it’s Postie. I love your moves and you kick a** and I’d like to invite you out to my show in Arizona this Sunday,” the rapper said in the video.
According to Bandsintown, Post Malone performed at the Pot of Gold Music Festival in Phoenix on St. Patrick’s Day. TMZ reports that he flew Alancourt out so he could do some backup dancing during the set.
The rapper then shot some dance scenes with Alancourt that are featured in the official “Wow” music video that was released on Tuesday. Alancourt first appears in the video at the 1:25 mark and is then seen throughout the rest of the video.
The video shows Alancourt dancing in a yard, in front of a beer pong game and finally on stage behind Post Malone at his show. The music and dancing pause at one point in the video just long enough for the rapper to give Alancourt a hug and tell him, “you’re a legend.”
It appears Colvin, the choreographer and owner of 1 Vibe Dance, is also in the background of some scenes in the video. She posted a photo of the three of them on her Instagram page earlier this week.
