NAVARRE, Fla. (WKRG) — When Navarre mother Cassie Carli and her daughter Saylor vanished from Navarre, it sent off a multi-state search with the Federal Bureau of Investigations working on the case. Marcus Spanevelo in court – April 19

During his first appearance, Santa Rosa County judge set Spanevelo’s bond on three charges — tampering with evidence, providing false information to law enforcement, and obstructing justice — at $21,000.

Marcus Spanevelo brought back to Santa Rosa County – April 18

On April 18, 2022, Marcus Spanevelo was booked into Santa Rosa County Jail. A report from Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office said Spanevelo was charged with one count of Tampering with Evidence and one count of False Information to Law Enforcement Officers During the Investigation.

Marcus Spanevelo voluntarily waives extradition – April 13

On April 13, 2022, Marcus Spanevelo voluntarily signed his waiver of extradition to Florida. This means that officials can start to make plans to bring Spanevelo back to Santa Rosa County, Fla.

Marcus Spanevelo refuses to waive extradition from Tennessee – April 4

Marcus Spanevelo appeared in a Tennessee court on April 4 where he refused extradition. He told the judge, “there are some things that need to be resolved before I’m willing to go that route.” His daughter Saylor has been with Tennessee Child Protective Services.

SRCSO announce Cassie Carli remains have been found – April 3

During a news conference that was held by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Sunday, officials announced the remains of Cassie Carli have been located. An autopsy will take place on April 4 in Huntsville, Ala.

Spanevelo arrested on multiple charges – April 2

Marcus Spanevelo was arrested in Tennessee on three charges related to the investigation. Spanevelo is Carli’s ex-boyfriend who she had 4-year-old Saylor with. His charges include tampering with evidence, giving false information concerning a missing persons investigation and destruction of evidence.

FBI working case, $3,000 reward offered – March 31

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office holds a news conference, announces that the FBI is working the case and that a $3,000 reward is being offered for information that leads investigators to Cassie. Sheriff Bob Johnson also offers an updated timeline on the case.

“We don’t know what happened to her,” said Johnson at the news conference. “We don’t have any evidence specifically pointing to homicide or abduction or any of those. We just know the way she’s gone missing concerns us greatly.”

Saylor found in Birmingham with Spanevelo – March 30

Marcus Spanevelo is located in Birmingham with Saylor. Santa Rosa County investigators said they believe Spanevelo was the last person to see Cassie.

Cassie’s car found in Navarre Beach – March 29

Investigators find Cassie’s car in the Juana’s Pagodas’ parking lot. Her purse was left in the car, alarming investigators.

Cassie’s father reported her missing.

Cassie Carli was last seen Sunday, March 27 in the parking lot of Juana’s Pagodas picking up her daughter, Saylor, from Marcus Spanevelo during a custody exchange.
