TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The following Tampa Bay restaurants received the most violations during inspections conducted from June 11 to June 16.
The Avenue at 330 1st Ave. S. in St. Petersburg, 30 violations
- Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous food was prepared onsite and held for more than 24 hours without being properly date marked. This included cheese sauce and chicken wings.
- Potentially hazardous hot food was held at less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit or above. This included mushrooms at 104°F.
- Approximately 30 live flies were found at the front bar.
Thai Samurai at 3150 Little Road in New Port Richey, 22 violations
- Roach activity was present as evidenced by live roaches found. Eleven roaches were found in the crease of the shelf on the cook line. Six were found behind the shelf on the cook line and one live roach was found crawling on a bucket of the chicken base.
- Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit inside the walk-in cooler. This included: cooked chicken 46°F, homemade curry 47°F, homemade soup 47°F, tofu 47°F, dumplings 45°F and raw fish 47°F.
- One dead roach was found behind the chest freezer.
Nobleton Outpost/Paddlers at 29295 Lake Lindsey Rd. in Nobleton, 26 violations
- Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous food was prepared onsite and held for more than 24 hours without being properly date marked. This included pork and hard boiled eggs.
- One live wasp and three flies were found in the kitchen area.
- Commercially processed ready-to-eat food was opened and held for more than 24 hours without being properly date marked. This included cheese, hot dogs and cooked mushrooms.
Asian Pearl at 2551 Drew St. #104 in Clearwater, 29 violations
- Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous food was prepared onsite and held for more than 24 hours without being properly date marked.
- An accumulation of black/green mold-like substance was found inside the interior of the ice machine.
- Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included bean sprouts and noodles 46°F.
Kingwood Crystal River Resort Corp at 9301 W. Fort Island Trl. in Crystal River, 25 violations
- Five live flies were found at the tiki bar and three were found in the kitchen and dishwasher areas.
- Dead roaches were found on the premises. Two were found inside the men’s bathroom.
- A Stop Sale was issued on potentially hazardous food due to temperature abuse. This included: fish dip, provolone cheese, coleslaw, cut tomatoes, cut lettuce, marinara sauce and watermelon.
Gators Cafe and Saloon at 12754 Kingfish Dr. in Treasure Island, 35 violations
- Approximately five small flying insects were found in the prep area, four were found in the hot prep area and 10 were found in the upstairs bar area.
- Commercially processed ready-to-eat food was opened and held for more than 24 hours without being properly date marked. This included fish spread.
- Rodent activity was present as evidenced by rodent droppings found. Approximately 10 hard, dry rodent droppings were found under a fan in the hall area.
Isla Del Sol Yacht-Main Kitchen at 6000 Sun Blvd. in St. Petersburg, 31 violations
- Three live small flying insects were observed around the soda machine, one on the cook line, four at the bar and two in the dish area.
- Dead roaches were found on the premises. One dead roach was observed on the floor of the dry storage room.
- Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included: buttermilk 53°F, grilled lemons 51°F and hot dogs 48°F.
Paisano’s Pizza ‘N Pasta at 6000 4th St.N. in St. Petersburg, 23 violations
- Potentially hazardous cold food was held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This included premade at salad 44°F. A Stop Sale was issued.
- Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous food was marked with a date that exceeds 7 days after opening/preparation.
- Kale was stored in a bucket that previously held a toxic substance. A Stop Sale was issued.
